Dr. Stephenie Chinwe A. Alaribe is a Bio and Pharmaceutical Chemist in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos, Nigeria. Her teaching and research interests span in the area of Medicinal & Natural Product Chemistry; Molecular Computational studies and Bio-imaging tools for Drug Design; Quality Analysis of Drugs, Drug related and Herbal Products. Stephenie, heads a Molecular Networking (MN) research group which uses Computational and Molecular simulation smart tools to explore secondary metabolites in Natural, Herbal Products and as possibly drug targets. The research group attempts to utilize analytical, computational and statistical tools to explore new compounds in green and inexhaustible West – African flora. Stephenie, is an active researcher currently focusing on discovering and developing Bio-molecules with specific targets for selected cancer cells. She is also a Co- Principal Investigator on studies involving Malaria right from her Ph.D. days. Stephenie, is a certified Public Analyst, involved as a team in analyzing Pharmaceuticals, drugs and drug related products. She has participated with different teams on some funded researches including; Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) , World Bank Grant for African Centre for Excellence, Drug Research, Herbal Medicine Development and Regulatory Science – ACEDHARS and also in collaboration with researchers in the University Paris-Saclay, France and INCLIVA, , Research Fellow, INCLIVA, Oncology Unit, Instituto de Investigation, Department of Pathology, University of Valencia, Spain,2022. Stephenie, is a recipient of several awards including University of Alcante grant for Sub- Sahara Women, 2023, Women Foundation for Africa, Mujere por Africa, 2022, Royal Society of Chemistry(RSC), 2020, TETFUND, 2020, African Science Literacy Network (ASLN) Fellow Award, Britain Biochemical Society, UK ,2019, Travel Award and Second Best Faculty of Pharmacy Researcher Award and recently; Best Research Presenter, Drug discovery for Africa Summer School, DDA, Ado-Ekiti by Volkswagen sifting, Germany, September, 2022; in a research study titled: Identification of Bio active multi-Targeted Lead Molecules from selected Medicinal Plants by Computational Molecular Networking Tools; Britain Biochemical Society, UK Travel Award and 2nd Best Faculty of Pharmacy Researcher Award. She is also an active member in academic and scholarly organizations which include American Society of Pharmacognosy, USA where she served in the International Relationships sub-committee representing Africa, 2018; Member, African Representative, The Italo, Latin-American, Asian & African, Society of Ethnomedicine, SILAE, The Scientific and Cultural Network, Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. Biochemical Society, UK; Federation of European Biochemical Societies(FEBS); Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria, IPAN; International Society for Infectious Diseases(ISID);Societa Italo-Latin American of Ethnomedicine. (SILAE); Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World and Pharmacogenomics Research Network Hub, USA. Dr Alaribe, has currently 6 Ph.D. students as supervisor and co-supervisor and has successfully supervised over thirty(30) MSc and undergraduate students. Dr Alaribe is also a reviewer of manuscripts to several journal bodies including the reputable Journal of Ethnopharmacology and Editorial Board Member; Journal of Medicinal Plants for Economic Development(JOMPED). She currently has over 32 publications in peer –reviewed International and National Journals. She has also featured in several conference proceedings, orally and in Posters. Aside Academics, Dr Alaribe is passionate about the Younger generation and is a sort after resource person who have given talks and participated in programs such as; Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (Lagos Chapter) in partnership with Lagos State, : Program for young girls in Public Schools. 2020 till date; Women of Essence Foundation: 2022 Pre-University Preparatory Summer Camp for Girls (PUPS), A mentoring Programme for young ladies ; Work shop based on the Challenges of Women's Leadership in Research and Higher Education Institutions in Sub- Saharan Africa, Alicante, November, 2022, Spain and most recently; Participated in Educational , Pedagogical Activity to bring the Science by Women programme to Secondary schools, ESO in Valencia , Spain.
