Dr. Kozikowski is world renowned for his work in the area of medicinal chemistry designing NCEs for both cancer and CNS disorders. He has over 550 publications and 100 patents. He trained at the University of Michigan, Berkeley, and Harvard, worked for 40+ years as a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, the Mayo Clinic, the Georgetown University Medical Center, and was the Director of the Drug Discovery Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Kozikowski is a co-founder of Actuate Therapeutics (pancreatic cancer drug in Phase 2), Bright Minds Biosciences (epilepsy drug in Phase 1) and is now setting up StarWise Psychedelics to advance the use of 5-HT2A agonists for neurological and psychiatric disorders. He is also the inventor of the PSMA targeting motif that has been employed in several recently marketed PSMA imaging agents, and as well as he did pioneering chemistry and biology on the memory drug Huperzine A that is sold as a nutraceutical agent. He has also invented a host of HDAC6 selective inhibitors such as the tool molecule Tubastatin A that has been used in over 100 published research articles to further probe HDAC biology. One of his licensed HDAC6 inhibitors has recently achieved orphan drug status for use in the treatment of advanced melanoma, and he continues to explore the application of these agents in treating rare and neglected diseases

Henrique Douglas Coutinho received the. MSc in Genetics – Brazil from the and the Ph.D. degree in in Natural and Sunthetic Biocative Products (Pharmacology) in Brazil from the Universidade Federal da Paraíba, , Brazil in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Currently, he is an Professor and researcher at the Regional University of Cariri, Brazil. He has co-authored over 800 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. Federica Pellati is an Associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy, where she is the Principal Investigator of the research group “Natural Products for Medicinal Chemistry”. Her research is dedicated to the study of bioactive natural compounds as new leads in medicinal chemistry. Her interest is focused on the extraction and analysis of molecules from Cannabis sativa L., and on the investigation of their biological activity against hyper-proliferative disorders and central nervous system diseases. She has many international and national research projects and collaborations. In 2022, she has been awarded with the ElSohly Award by CANN for her research on C. sativa. Dr Laurent Désaubry is a CNRS Director of Research at the Center of Research in Biomedicine of Strasbourg affiliated to the University of Strasbourg and INSERM. After a Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry and postdoctoral internship at SUNY at Stony Brook (USA) he joined CNRS as Research Senior Scientist at the University of Strasbourg. He was promoted CNRS research director (corresponds to full professor) in 2014, and was appointed adjunct professor at Tianjin University of Science and Technology from 2015 to 2019. He is serving as an editorial board member of Frontiers in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, and International Journal of Molecular Science.

Professor Richardson holds the Alan Mackay-Sim Distinguished Chair of Cancer Cell Biology at Griffith University, Brisbane, and is a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) of Australia Senior Principal Research Fellow. He is a multi-disciplinary medicinal chemist/biochemist/pharmacologist whose career has spanned medicinal chemistry, drug design/development/commercialisation, cancer biology, and neurobiology. He was recently honoured by the international Otto Krayer Award in Pharmacology 2022 from the American Society of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) and the Distinguished Fellow Award from the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia Professor Richardson has been Executive Editor of BBA-General Subjects and served on the Ed. Boards of 54 journals, including: JBC, Antioxidants Redox Signaling, Biochem. J., Free Radic. Biol. Med., Pharmacol. Res., J. Clin. Pathology (Assoc. Ed.), Int. J. Biochem. Cell Biology, BBA-Mol. Cell. Res., Mol. Pharmacol., Pharmacol. Res., Cancers, etc. As a major translational research achievement, he developed the redox active anti-cancer and anti-metastatic drug, DpC, which overcomes P-glycoprotein-mediated resistance and up-regulates the metastasis suppressor, NDRG1. This led to commercialisation of DpC and the international company, Oncochel Therapeutics LLC, USA and its Australian subsidiary, Oncochel Therapeutics Pty Ltd. Notably, DpC entered multi-centre Phase I clinical trials for advanced and resistant cancer. These anti-cancer drugs target the lysosome via the P-glycoprotein transporter.

Professor Lewis started his PhD research on polyether sodium channel activator toxins known as ciguatoxins, which are responsible for ciguatera fish poisoning. He then spent 10 years researching the problem at the Queensland Department of Primary Industries before moving back to The University of Queensland in 1995 to initiate research into the phamacology of conotoxins, small venom peptides produced by cone snails. This research led to the development of Xen2174 as a new class of non-competitive norepinephrine transporter inhibitors for the treatment of severe pain at Xenome Ltd, a company he co-founded. Professor Lewis’ current research interests include the origins and detection of ciguatoxins and the elucidation of the evolution and pharmacology of conopeptides, especially the discovery of novel classes of peptides that may be useful for the treatment of pain. Presently he is Professor of Molecular Pharmacology and was inaugural Director of the IMB Centre for Pain Research in the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) at The University of Queensland, Australia.

Mr. Fernández Sousa-Faro has been a Professor of Biochemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Santiago de Compostela, he obtained an MBA from the IESE Business School in Madrid. Dr. Fernández Sousa-Faro has over 90 scientific articles and patents in the field of biochemistry, drug discovery and molecular biology. With more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he has held positions within the executive management of ICI-Farma, Antibióticos, Zeltia and Pharma Mar. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Antibiotics, Penibérica, Biolys, ICI-Farma, Pescanova, Transfesa, Cooper–Zeltia, ICI-Zeltia and Banco Guipuzcoano. He founded Pharma Mar in 1986 and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive President of Pharma Mar.

Dr. Mujib Ullah has completed his PhD in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and completed postdoctoral studies from MIT and Harvard University and is currently working as an assistant professor in Stanford University School of Medicine and CEO of Quantum Biolabs. Dr Ullah is the medical investigator in the Department of Regenerative Medicine, Stanford University. He is editor-in-chief for Artificial Intelligence in Cancer, guest editor for ACS Nano, editor for Nature, and section editor for Stem Cells Research and Therapy. He has published numerous papers and has served as an editorial board member for many journals, such as the American Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering. Professor Y. George Zheng is a faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at University of Georgia. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Peking University, Beijing, Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from University of Miami, Florida, and completed postdoctoral training in pharmacology in Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Zheng’s research lab innovates and utilizes multidisciplinary, cutting-edge chemistry and biology probes and approaches to address critical challenges in the rapidly evolving field of epigenetics that describes gene expression profile changes that are apart from genetic sequence. Particular emphasis is on design of epigenetic inhibitors and elucidation of mechanisms of PTM-caused epigenetic effects on cellular physiology and pathology. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers. He has been supervising undergraduate students, and Masters and doctoral graduate students, and postdoctoral trainees.

Dr. Jayvadan kumar K Patel, born on August 4, 1974 and a student of Gujarati medium of instruction, is a B. Pharm (1996), B. K. Modi Government College of Pharmacy, Rajkot, M. Pharm. (2003) (Pharmaceutical Technology) Department of Pharmacy, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Ph.D. (2005), and LLB (2009) both from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, PostDoctorate (2016), USF College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida, USA. He began his teaching career as lecture in 1996 at Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ganpat University and later he joined Nootan Pharmacy College, Visnagar, Gujarat as Assistant Professor and Principal (I/c) in 2008. He worked as a Professor, Dean (Faculty of Pharmacy and Physiotherapy) and Principal till 2022. Presently Dr. Jayvadan kumar is a Formulation Scientist at Aavis Pharmaceuticals, USA and Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sankalchand Patel University, India. He has published 270 research papers, presented 52 papers, both in India and abroad and holds one patent jointly and five are filed. He has co-authored20 books and contributed 116 chapters in a book published in USA. His papers have been cited more than 5500 times, with more than 28 papers getting more than 50 citations each.He is recipient of very prestigious “AICTE-Visvesvaraya Best Teachers Award-2020” by All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India and APTI-young pharmacy teacher award (2014) by Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India. He has organized a number of staff developments program, workshops, seminars, public lectures, pharmacist refresher courses sponsored by government agencies and received Rs. 23.95 lac grant. Dr. Zhang obtained B. Eng.in Biochemical Engineering at Huaqiao University, China, 1986. After eight years of teaching and research in Biochemical Engineering at the Zhejiang University of Technology, he went to University of Leeds as a Ph.D. student to study in Microbiology. He worked in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for one year as a postdoc. He joined Linhardt Group at University of Iowa in 1999 and moved to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as a research faculty in 2003. His research areas are glycomics and glycobiology. He has published more than 350 research papers, book chapters and several patents, received a few scientific achievement awards (such as Research Excellent Award, RPI, 2012). As Co-PI or co-Investigator on several previous NIH-funded grants, he established the groundwork for glycan purification, and GAGs analysis using LC-MS, and protocols for GAG-protein, protein-protein interaction analysis using SPR.

Mario de la Fuente, PharmD, PhD, is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and the founder of GONOGO solutions LLC. His work encompasses the exploration of neuropharmacology to enable drug discovery efforts, with an emphasis on addressing translational pitfalls. Trained in Medicinal Chemistry, Dr. de la Fuente supports discovery efforts across a wide array of fields in neuroscience. Over the last decade, Dr. de la Fuente's work has paid special attention to psychedelics and related scaffolds to explore uncharted therapeutic avenues for unmet neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. He has authored over 30 original articles and is an inventor on several patents. His research has led to significant achievements, including the discovery of the neurogenesis-inducing properties of alkaloids found in Ayahuasca and the unveiling of a persisting epigenetic substrate supporting psychedelic pro-synaptic properties. As part of his research and support to operational and strategic endeavors in drug development, Dr. de la Fuente has also focused on developing preclinical models of translational value. He has fully-automated a behavioral assay and developed a molecular predictor of psychedelic activity in mice, further enhancing our understanding of the molecular and behavioral signatures of these drugs and paving the way for their potential applications.

Dr. Qi obtained his PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas in 2005. After postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and medicinal chemistry research at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Qi joined the faculty at the National Institute of Biological Science, Beijing in 2013 and currently is the Director of the Chemistry Center at NIBS and associate PI. The central theme of my research program focuses on the interface of bioactive molecule synthesis, chemical biology, and medicinal chemistry. We bear persistent enthusiasm for the discovery of novel synthetic strategies for the efficient synthesis of highly bioactive natural products from abundant natural biomass or feedstock. Based on high-throughput screening, computer-aided drug design, and medicinal chemistry, we are devoted to identifying significant biological targets, interpreting their mechanism of action, and facilitating biomedical research for clinically valuable small molecule discovery. Drug development within the lab focuses on first-in-class drug candidates to address unmet medical needs, such as the inhibition of HBV infection, circadian clock or sleep regulation, and anti-cancer therapies via either small molecule-induced protein degradation or molecular glue-modulated protein-protein interaction.

Dr Mao is an assistant professor, at the College of Medical Information and Engineering, Southwest Medical University, China. He graduated from Yonsei University with a PhD in Integrative Biotechnology and Translational Medicine. His research interests are in computational biology, with a focus on AI- and bioinformatics-based drug discovery and pathogenesis along with biomarker research.

Paolo Guglielmi obtained his Master’s Degreecum laudein Chemistry and Technologies of Drug at “Sapienza” University of Rome. He obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the same department where he currently works as researcher. He is focusing his scientific activity on the design, synthesis and characterization of new biologically active compounds for antitumoral purposes as well as neurodegenerative disorders treatment. During his career he has attended many congresses with oral and poster presentations, and worked as co-author of 43 papers published on international peer-review journals.

Samuel Banister is cofounder and CSO of Psylo, a biotech company developing next-generation therapeutics inspired by Nature. Sam is driven by the scalable impact that new medicines can have on human health, and has directed drug development programs at leading universities including Stanford and the University of Sydney, as well as consulting to biotech start-ups such as Tranquis Therapeutics, Nalu Bio, and Pangea Botanica.

Sonia Cantel obtained her PhD in 2004 in Chemistry of Biomolecules from the University of Montpellier, under the supervision of Dr. J-A Fehrentz, in the field of pseudo-peptide and solid phase organic synthesis. Then, she joined the group of Pr. M. Chorev for the following two years as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Laboratory for Translational Research (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA). She actively participated to biomedicinal projects where chemistry plays a critical role but also required the input of other scientific disciplines. In this interdisciplinary research environment, she developed extensive skills in analytical techniques applied to peptide and protein engineering. Her accomplishments included development of new methodologies for synthesis of glycated antigenic peptides and in situ templated assembly of fragments to generate potent inhibitors of protein-protein interaction. She joined in 2007 the group of Professor J. Martinez as an Associate-Professor at the University of Montpellier, taking advantage of her multidisciplinary experience to develop new projects at the interface of Chemistry, Biology and Analytical Sciences. She focuses her research on the development of chemical probes for specific and sensitive detection of peptides and proteins, and pharmacological studies (GPCR/ligand interaction) by MALDI Mass Spectrometry. Actively involved in peptide environment, she is member of the board of the GFPP (French Group of Peptides and Proteins).

Bastiaan Bergman, PhD - VP of Engineering, Model Medicines Physicist by education; moved to Silicon Valley for my first job. At IBM (2005-2009) I did fundamental research at a novel computer memory, and built a pulsed laser tool for measurement of magnetic domain wall activity in nanowires. The work was published in PRL, Nature and other journals. The memory came to market as ST-MRAM in 2016. Then, at WD (2009-2018), worked in nano-physics and material science. Here, at the magnetic heads production site we made 3 million heads per day and my team was responsible for the measurements of a range of physical properties on these heads in the production line. When data grew, I started using AI to make better use of the data and predict yield and performance metrics online in the production line. In 2017 I competed in the Passenger Screening Algorithm Challenge, an AI competition with the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for predicting contraband on airline passengers as they move through the microwave scanners at airports. In that competition I won second place, and then decided to do something else with this new AI skill. In 2018 I joined Atomwise, with the early team of about 10. With Atomwise we basically pioneered the idea of using AI for drug discovery. The company grew fast and I was heavily involved in every AI project that Atomwise worked on in those years. Through my experience with AI, experimental data in general, and having learnt more about the intricacies of pharmacology I decided it was time for a new approach for AI in pharmacology. In 2021 I joined Model Medicines, joining a team with a strong focus on bringing a drug to the patient.

Dr Van Hijfte holds a PhD degree in Chemistry from Gent University (1984, Belgium) and finalized his academic training by post-doctoral stay at UCSB. He started his industrial career at Merrell Dow in 1986 in Strasbourg, France, where he progressed to head of the medicinal chemistry by the time the site had become part of Sanofi in 1998. In 2002 he moved to Janssen, J&J, first as Research Director of their R&D site in Val de Reuil, France, before taking on the role of Senior Director, Head of Medicinal Chemistry EU, at Janssen Research & Development. He was privileged to contribute to several successful projects, with numerous programs entering into clinical development in the areas of neurosciences, oncology, and infectious diseases. In 2012 Dr Van Hijfte became CSO of NovAliX, Illkirch, France, before moving in 2017 to his actual position at Symeres, where he oversees all activities related to integrated drug discovery activities for clients worldwide. In parallel, he has been involved in a few start-ups, the principal one being Phytodia since 2015, a Strasbourg based company valorizing scientifically plant extracts for cosmetics and nutraceutics, where he occupies the position of President. Dr Van Hijfte has been the president of the TechnoPole Chimie-Biologie-Sante in 2004-2012, Vice-President of the French Medicinal Chemistry Society (SCT) in 2015-16, President of the SCT 2017-18, and is currently member of the Executive Committee of the EFMC as president elect. In 2018, he has been elected and named member of the “Académie Nationale de Pharmacie” in France, for his multiple contributions to pharmaceutical developments.

Amgad Mohammed Rabie Hamed Fouda has completed his MSc and Postgraduate studies in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at the age of 30 years from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Egypt. He is one of the most famous and reputed Egyptian and Arab pharmacists, researchers, and scientists. His new research focused on the synthesis, discovery, and dev elopment of new drugs and medicines for the most resistant and untreated human diseases. Her thesis focused on “preparation and characterization of curcumin loaded gold/graphene oxide nanocomposite for potential breast cancer therapy”. This work was published in "Research on Chemical Intermediates" journal in Sep’2018. Maryam has been working in pharmacy since 2019. Additionally, she’s been managing Cosmetic and Beauty Skin Clinic in Zanjan since 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, fitness training and playing guitar. She also love traveling and exploring new places!

Atefeh Hajiagha Bozorgi obtained her Pharm.D. degree in 2007 and her PhD in Medicinal chemistry in 2013.She has been working as assistant professor since 2015 and also as deputy dean of education & research in Alborz School of pharmacy since 2019 .She is also an entrepreneur and founder of a company focuses on active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis.
